NE Regionals

Posted on May 06, 2007

Watching the Clown attend their first ever college regionals was a great experience. They were happy with their performance (nearly knocking out 9th-ranked BU in the back-door bracket), and the general consensus was that regionals is somewhere that they want to continue visiting. Brown and Williams clinched the two bids and are on their way to nationals in Ohio. Interested in the history of our region, I’ve compiled a list of the NE region teams that made it to natties since 1999, when the UPA redrew the regions from five to eight. The list is in seeding order:

1999: Brown, Yale
2000: Brown*, Tufts
2001: Tufts, Brown, Harvard
2002: Tufts
2003: Brown, Williams, Dartmouth
2004: Brown, Tufts
2005: Brown*, Harvard
2006: Harvard, Brown
2007: Brown, Williams

For Brown, it’s just a another year, making nationals 9 times in 10 years (they made it in 1998 as well). It’s clear that even in off years, they have an incredibly solid program that continues to dominate the region. For Williams, it’s the first trip to nationals in a decade. So congrats, Brown and WUFO!
