The 2006 UPA National Championships starts today for all four divisions: Open (mens), Women, Mixed, and Masters.

Open Scores here and here

UPDATE:: No Surprises in the first game of the day. Furious, Sockeye, DoG, and Ring roll. Metal loses by three to Bravo. Everyone keeps their seed so far.

UPDATE2:: Furious, Sockeye, DoG, Ring roll more. Chain beats SubZero (3 beating a two seed in Pool B), and Vicious takes a very close one against Revolver 17-16 (that must have been crazy fun to play/watch). Sadly, Metal loses another very tight one to Bravo, 15-13.

The third game of the first day is probably the most interesting as it’s when the top two teams from each pool play each other, and therefore the bottom two teams play each other as well. Probably will be the tightest games yet. Probably Furious, Sockeye, and DoG will roll again, but the Bravo-Ring of Fire game should be close.

UPDATE3:: So in the third round yesterday DoG lost to Revolver in a game which apparently had twenty-minute long last point with dropped discs, fouls, and injuries. Bravo beat Ring which is notable. Otherwise not notable. Check out the Open Writeup for further DoG discussion (the talk of the day)

DoG lost big to Sockeye in the Power Pools today but will most likely win the third spot in their pool to gear up for the quarters on Saturday. Nothing really exciting is going on in the other pools for teams that I know of, except that Metal has a good shot again Sub Zero to make the quarters-play in game to play what will likely be Rhino. Go Metal!
