dad goes nuts.
I just thought I’d blog this for the heck of it. And create a non-denominational holiday while I’m at it: Happy Dad Day, Dad!

More Late-Night NZ
I remember passing over this pre-NZ, and now post-NZ, Professor Tucker‘s (of the Bowdoin CS Department) photo-guide to New Zealand is a darn good one. It’s has pretty much all the interesting observations that my family has on their short-stay and none of the boring ones. Moreover, it has nifty retro, grainy feel to it.
He was able to capture a few things way better than I did:
–how flat Christchurch is.
–what a quintessential NZ house looks like.
–really great picture of the one-lane bridge w/railroad
–unbelievable picture of a kiwi–can’t be his.
–queenstown. my pictures of q-town suck.
Scree, Scree, Scree!
Home
Some of the simple pleasures of being Home with my parents: not having to call ‘fives’ or ‘shotgun’.
Anda’s Game
Just finished reading–non-stop I might add–Anda’s Game by Cory Doctorow (who has recently quit his day-job at the EFF and is writing full-time).
The story is about a girl and a video game and the culture that surrounds it all. It’s never too unbelievable to be unbelievable and you can really swell up into the whole nifty environment that this ‘game’ provides. You should garner a read if you have the time.
