Zelda: Live Blogging

Posted on December 28, 2005

O.K., it’s 11:08 am, and Josh and I are ready to start. The N64 works, we have starbucks, and we have fire.

UPDATES:

12:57 PM: Dodongo’s Cavern. Got a bit stuck finding the chickens (just to get a bottle) and how to get the Goran’s Bracelet. Boy, is this going to take a while.

1:02 PM: First Death, Dodongo’s Cavern. Lazer beamer dudes.

3:09 PM: Beat Dodogongo’s, really slow uptake as we’re struggling with how to get into Zora’s Domain. Very slow pace right now. Outlook bleak.

3:32 PM: Still can’t find Zora’s Domain–but have a hunch. Picked up a sixth heart though, big wallet, big bomb bag — we know how to accessorize. Hah–found Zora’s Domain. I’m going to subway. THERE ARE SIX DUCKS OUT THERE–AND THEY ALL WANT SUNCHIPS!!

4:02 PM: BIG UPDATE: got Subway. Toasty.

5:26 PM: got the last Stone–Rescued Luru from Lord Jubu-Jubu. Giant Fish: 0wned. Now little link is growing into a man swimming with Princess Luru.

5:30 PM: Kicking the crap out of Chickens in Kakariko Village is hilarious. We’re also about to go from young weak Link to strong buff Link–Josh’s favorite. Epona our fine stead is forthcoming!

5:32 PM: It’s happening, Gannondorf has chased Zelda and her Sheikh soldierette Inga (or something) out of Hyrule Castle; oh it is so on.

5:44 PM: Temple of Time, Bitches!

5:56 PM: Now that we’re old, we think we’ve forgotten something when we were young. This is what’s slowing us down so much: simply not knowing what to do or where to go. Josh and I both have vague recollections of the game. Once we get to the pure fighting and dungeons, we’ve been doing fine and rarely dying.

6:56 PM: Made it to the Forest Temple. Josh gone. N64 brings out the bitter 13 year-olds in both of us.

7:16 PM: FINALLY, the reason to go to Kakariko Village after the adulthood: Hookshot. Had to go to the Forest Temple to find out what, and had to go to the graveyard and beat some ghost at some race to get it. Ugh! You were right, Josh.

7:54 PM: My Contiguous Quest ends here, 8 Hours and 47 Minutes after the start, frustrated and stuck in the Forest Temple. Wow–I truly suck at life.

Dear Mr. LH (may I call you that?),

Would you come address the garden club on the topic of ‘Persimmons – the Possibilities are Endless’?

    Hugs,
