Disneytoons Studio Australia has been sacked — 250 animators — but this isn’t the most interesting thing. This is the studio behind the 2′s and 3′s — the sequel franchises — of the classic Disney motion pictures. They produced:
-Lion King 2, Jungle Book 2, Lady and the Tramp 2, Brother Bear 2, Aladdin 2, Peter Pan 2, Tarzan 2, Lilo and Stitch 2 and of course, Bambi 2.
Disney lays off loads of animators in a general trend away from 2D animation and the whole animation industry–but it seems that they’ve given the whole sequel franchise the boot as well. Or maybe they’ve just consolidated it to the other animation studios they still have. Either way, I’m right.

So I finally got into the old, danky Squash Courts above Morrell tonight. It was extremely enjoyable–I worked on five ball shower, five ball above my head, 7531, five ball mills, and six for a bit. Zander, V, and I are looking to set an hour for the rest of the summer each week, and another once the year starts.
In other news, we’re getting closer to getting Div 2 sectionals, our second most important fall frisbee tournament, to Bowdoin on the 25th (Lynn Ruddy gave us a go for the field space).
In other news, I’m about to install Tiger, Mac OS X 10.4.
Ze Germans are starting to put up video from Robocup ’05 — which they won.

University Professors and Staff, Air New Zealand Staff strike on the job. Both of which are good–the economy has done so well in recent years that it’s a pity that such a progressive government fails to compensate its employees in kind.
Flower put his pics up from the weekend, attendees were Flower, Seabass, Kate, Laura Kavazanjian hailing from Brown, Haley and Brian — kate’s roommate and kate’s roommate’s boyfriend. Great times. I’ll put up mine later this week.
Slacking on the blogging and photo-uploading front, I’ve posted some Milford Sound pictures from the fourth day of the mother/dad New Zealand retreat. This was way before the feeling-up of the Kiwi, the meeting of the Fijian Works, and even the long haul drives of the south island. Now I’m watching House in bed and looking forward to Katahdin instead aiboConnect programming for the weekend. Goodnight.
