I noticed this logo briefly, which I believe to be brand-new, checking Gmail:
This quickly reverted back to Gmail’s traditional logo when I refreshed the inbox (or clicked something, I can’t remember). The old logo floating in the top-left corner of the screen is just so much more badass:
With the personalized Google just being introduced, it’s not surprising to see the integration of what was once a standalone service, Gmail, into being just one service in the array of current and future Google services. This isn’t really exciting on its own, but it’s interesting to watch the progression of what is obviously Google’s roadmap and which is obviously wrapped in mystery and confusion. This logo change isn’t consistent with every Gmail user nor is it even consistent within my account alone. The logo rings of Web Clips, which I have and I find less than froody, but some Gmail users haven’t even seen at all.
Cousin Melissa celebrated her completion of studies at Salisbury University with a degree in Nursing. Good on ya mate!! I missed the antics.
Emily, sister, seems to have gotten into a bit of flickr-taking. this one is really good. this one is awesome. Nice eye, Em.
Looks like Disney is pushing promotion of the new Hong Kong Disneyland, set to open September 12 of this year. There’s already speculation that there will be a Disneyland India in the works before Eisner heads out–but I personally think they should capitalize on the New Zealand marketplace. The only thing resembling an amusement park out here is Rainbow’s End–and it’s apparently ‘premier’ too. Heck, I’m sure they could draw more international students out to NZ if they had something has fun and exciting as a Diznee Park instead of the unnatural and
boring scenery that I’ve come to fiercely detest.
Lastly, here’s an interesting aside to Theme Park Management–something I learned from Roller Coaster Tycoon 2–don’t hire cleaning services associated with Japanese nationalists. Also interesting and completely disconnected from the running commentary and instead entirely focosed on broader social commentary, The Yomiuri Shimbun has a daily circulation of over 10 million. The USA Today, America’s most highly-circulated paper, by contrast, has a daily circulation of 2,281,831.
My ultimate frisbee team, Bowdoin Stoned Clown, doesn’t just have a thoroughly awesome faculty advisor, we have a tenured thoroughly awesome faculty advisor. Mojo deserves a fully-assured semi-retirement more than any sociology professor I know: his papers, “So What Is to Be Done?: Maquila Justice Movements, Transnational Solidarity, and Dynamics of Resistance,” “Reterritorializing Borders: Transnational Environmental Justice Movements on the US-Mexico Border,” and “We Need More Physics: the Dearth of Forehand Innovation in the Modern Hucking Community,” have been widely influential. I had the priviledge of seeing Mojo speak at last year’s Hunger Banquet and was struck by his passion, well-spoken words, and his breadth of knowledge. To all professors like him, tenure. Double-tenure to the ones with long throws.
Ask me to send you what mort emailed him concerning their mutual class schedule next semester.

Hell, I’m up late. I’ve gotten to the point where the political communication essay has extended past the immediate goal of ‘sense’ and is now more about how many clever lines I can put down before I pass out. Theory of Computation is dead-hard, especially when you don’t even want to know what a “Palindrome Prefix” is, or let alone what people do with them. The Clown is rabble-rousing again on the listserv. I’m seriously considering creating a Firefox extension for Tor Servers. I really am kickass at Juggling, I’m doing four above my head and five in a shower pretty easily now. Flower and fluff are back in the states, Kate i’ve been talking to a really good bit in Greece, and apparently, 5-of-9 of my flatmates next year have chosen rooms. This post accentuates the fact that I’ll never post again in the first-person, narrative, about stupid things I think.
I’ve been published, so to speak, despite the fact that the photo isn’t mine (it’s pete’s) and it hasn’t been ‘published, but ‘flickrzenned’. Basically it got tagged by some fanatic flickr-photo-scourers, and they have a blog, and this photo is now on it.

Check out the set from Mt. Cook this weekend. It was a great time–anyone ever in the area looking for a remote hut–go to Ball Shelter. Make sure, however, that if you have a Frenchman in your party, not to give him the radio. What a great, reckless weekend. I’ll finish tagging/labeling the set after a good bit of work.
Here’s a collection of notices in the back of this week’s Critic, the Otago student-newsletter:
