About me

I'm a R&D Imagineer for Walt Disney Imagineering: Research & Development.

For extracurriculars, I hack on various Ruby projects, play ultimate frisbee, and every six months or so, I compete in various Disney-related scavenger hunts.

I led the Backend Team for the Disney.com Platforms Team, holding various titles including Manager, Software Engineering, Staff Software Engineer, and Senior Software Engineer.

In October 2012, we launched a completely new, built-from-the-ground-up Disney.com. The platform now powers these sites, amongst others:

Before working at Disney proper, I was a developer for TouringPlans.com, the research arm of the Unofficial Guide series of travel books. We built some sweet web and mobile apps for touring theme parks.

Before that, I and another guy built CrunchBase, a structured wiki project for TechCrunch. I worked on all their blog properties and infrastructure, and helped organize Startup2Startup, a monthly dinner event for silicon valley geeks, entrepreneurs, and investors.

For two years before that, I was the team captain for the Northern Bites, Bowdoin College's RoboCup 4-Legged League team. In 2007 in Atlanta, we won the RoboCup World Championship. In 2006, we finished tenth. And we met Drew Carey.

I graduated from Bowdoin College in '06 with degrees in Computer Science and American Government. I studied at The University of Otago in spring '05.
